Fundamentals of Rigging – Dartmouth, NS

This 1-day program will provide participants with the fundamental knowledge to perform lifting operations safely. This Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) accredited program meets and exceeds the local regulations and industry standards.

 

The program contents:

  • Legislation, regulations, and standards
  • Risk management
  • Rigging plan
  • Calculating load weight
  • Rigging triangle
  • Sling angles and sling tension
  • Slings (textile, wire rope, chain, and sling configurations)
  • Rigging hardware (shackles, eyebolts, clips, master links, etc.)
  • Chain blocks and lever hoists
  • Pre-use inspections
  • Tag lines
  • Communications (radio, hand signals)

The program is classroom-based theory with practical examples. Participants are evaluated by means of a written test. Upon successful completion of the program, a certificate will be issued that is valid for three (3) years.
